 Simmel Difesa leading position amongst the European companies
in the defence sector is ensured through extensive R&D programmes
and investments.
Currently Simmel Difesa is carrying out research and development
activities in the field of “insensitive explosives” for ammunitions, rockets and
missiles warheads, capable of
satisfying the most recent requirements for safety in terms of handling
and use.
Furthermore, the R&D programmes are oriented towards new
generations proximity fuzes for
naval ammunition: for higher protection against ECM and sea clutter,
better detonating point
and maximised system lethality. Finally in terms of missiles warheads
and SaD (safe and arm),
Simmel Difesa is also participating to several international
development consortia including
ASTER, IRIS, POLIPHEM programmes.
